STATEMENT
For children (aged 6–10) with autism, our sensory-interactive, modular seat provides a safe and engaging way to express and regulate emotions. Unlike standard chairs or simple fidget toys, it combines playful assembly, varied tactile feedback, and gentle light cues to support emotional release and encourage communication through hands-on exploration—ultimately enabling play for communication.
RESEARCH
Background Analysis
• Children with autism often experience high anxiety and sensory overload in unfamiliar settings (e.g., new classrooms, hospitals, playgrounds).
• Sudden changes in environment, sound, or routine can trigger meltdowns, withdrawal, or repetitive behaviors.
• Providing predictable, calming cues can significantly improve adaptability and emotional regulation.
